Conference regarding the structure, holding and management 9th world Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) was hold in Berlin/Germany from 19-23 June 2015. I participated in this congress with oral presentation, entitled “Therapeutic Effectiveness of Ultrasound-guided versus Blind intra-articular Injections of Hyaluronic acid in Patients with Moderate knee osteoarthritis”. That was an outstanding event with important scientific outcomes and educational contents at a top level. Additionally, we experienced an open atmosphere as a basis of a good and intense communication among colleagues from all around the world. Many international scientific societies and distinguished scientists of PM&R such as Dr.Delisa and Dr.Fronetra also participated and supported this congress. Main topics of PM&R, teaching programs, workshops and collaborating sessions were all useful. I also participated in two 3-hour workshop: “Interventional musculoskeletal Sonography” and “Electrodiagnosis in respiratory system”, which both of them were interesting and beneficial. Conference illustrations regarding new contents The ISPRM 2015 conference introduced a new way of presenting and discussing scientific posters instead of paper posters. Posters were uploaded and submitted electronically as e-posters and could be retrieved on presentation screens which were presented around the whole conference site. The discussions were guided by a most knowledgeable expert in the field. The presenting author introduced his/her research work within 10 minutes in a separate session and opened the discussion of research which was accompanied by audience and session’s expert manager at the end. After the session, there was opportunity for further discussion and questions/answers. These sessions had a specific common thematic focus and therefore gave the participants the opportunity to meet colleagues from other countries working in the same field of interest. Visiting the famous scientific people In one of collaboration sessions which were allocated to Iranian society of PM&R, we had a meeting with Dr.Rayegani, Dr.Torkan and Dr.Froojh (invited speaker of Iran), Dr. Mehrsheed Sinaki from Mayo clinic/USA and deputy of WHO. In this 1.5- hour session topics and issues such as “ implementation of WHO action plan in Iran”, “health status of women in Iran”, “setting up health clinic for women” and “updates of osteoporosis” were presented and discussed. Places of interest and touristic attractions We visited of historical Brandenburg Tor (gait) and Berlin parliament building. We also visited of very large and green national garden of city namely “Tier Garden” and adjacent famous Zoo. Comments and Recommendations I appreciate for encouragement of Dean of faculty as well as head of department in proceeding to this academic trip and I hope these international seminars, educational courses and research opportunities will be continued by university supports and we apply these innovations and international congresses in our country. | ||||||
