| 1 st Intercontinental Emergency Medicine Congress This congress was first intercontinental emergency medicine congress which was held by Turkish emergency physicians association in Belek, Antalya. There were speakers from Austria, United state, Canada, Yemen, United Arabia, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Spain, India, South Africa, Belgium, Cyprus, Iran.
I and Chairman of Iran emergency medicine association with 2 other members were invited. I spoke about Pace makers; their indications, complications and miss diagnose. Correct use of pacemaker is a main stone of resuscitation and patient stabilization. Understanding the malfunction and complication of pacemaker can prevent events and manage critic.
There were presentations about Hypertension and its management, vasopressin in shock, ultrasonography in diagnosis of respiratory disease; that were welcome by participants. Main purpose of this congress was presenting new in emergencies such as resuscitation, cardiovascular emergencies (step by step management of disrhythmia…..), endocrinology for first time (diagnosis and first intervention and management of patient with endocrine problem….). Ultrasonography in diagnosis of pulmonary disease especially in emergency condition like pneumonia was welcomed by participant and they were interested them. Relatives presence during resuscitation, possible electrolyte abnormalities such as hyperkalemia during resuscitation and administration of thrombolytic therapy in patients with suspected thromboembolic revived specially was discussed. Discussion about control of blood pressure, blood pressure and target blood pressure which is in controversy in books was presented, and emphasized that the optimal pressure is different and depending on the patient's underlying disease and we must treat cause of hypertension instead of seeking the treatment of hypertension. Ultrasonography topics such as the role of ultrasonography in trauma and shock assessment measure, indexed inferior vena cava, the response to hydration, the study of cardiac function, pneumothorax and hemothorax in respiratory failure and pneumonia diagnosis and ultimately cause failure in trauma patients were discussed, too. |
