I was invited by Zimmer institute to master class-fusion and Non-Fusion course in Istanbul , Turkey in June 26. 27. 2014.

The specific learning objectives for this master class include:

·         Implement the principles of lumbar fusion.

·         Analyze the importance of sagittal balance.

·         Analyze the deformities and draw a treatment strategy

·         Discuss the characteristics of MIS technique and plan a MIS fusion surgery.

·         Implement the principles of dynamic stabilization.

·         Debate on non-fusion technologies for spine surgeries (Dynesys , Uniwallis , DTO 5.5)

·         Discuss the topping off technique.

We learned about  1) universal clamp : concept & indication , Technique , Tips & Tricks 2) MIS technique Tips & Tricks. 3) Dynamic stabilization a) interspinous (wallis/Uniwallis) , Indications.  b) Pedicle serow based dynamic stabilization with Dynesys , concept , indication/ surgical technique/ Tips and Tracks 4) Topping – off hybrid solutions with DT05.5.

I participated in this course interactively in presentation , discussion and workshops.
